Hurley reveals fashion's heroin link

Liz Hurley sparked controversy last night by claiming that heroin addiction was rampant in the fashion world. The a ctress and model refused to defend the industry from criticism over its 'heroin chic' look.
She said supermodels were less likely to use the drug, but claimed heroin use was common among those lower down the fashion scale. 'I think the fashion industry is quite druggie to be quite honest,' said Miss Hurley, who has a £4m contract with Estee Lauder.
'I think most of the people you'd think of as a supermodel - they're not remotely druggie, because I don't think you can become phenomenally successful and build huge business empires if you are wasted all the time.
'You can't go to work every day if you're doing heroin. If you're not reliable, people will stop booking you.
'The big girls - I don't think they drink, I don't think they smoke. I think they go to bed early and I think they're pretty much like normal business people.
'But I do think that the fashion industry on the whole, though, is pretty druggie. There's a lot of heroin addiction going on lower down the scale.'
